General Assault Badge
The German General Assault Badge, or Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen, was a military decoration established on June 1, 1940, during World War II. It was intended to recognize the achievements and valor of soldiers who demonstrated exceptional skills and bravery in combat actions not specific to any particular branch of the German Army.
This badge was awarded to soldiers who met certain criteria in ground combat. To qualify for the General Assault Badge, soldiers had to display outstanding performance in hand-to-hand combat situations, use of hand grenades, or in other scenarios where close combat skills were demonstrated
