Panzer Assault Badge - 50 Engagements

Flat pin backed

The WWII Panzer Assault Badge, or Panzerkampfabzeichen, was a military decoration awarded to soldiers in the German armored (Panzer) units for their achievements in armored combat. It was instituted on December 20, 1939, by Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch, the Commander-in-Chief of the German Army.

The badge came in various grades, including bronze, silver, and gold, signifying different levels of achievement or participation in armored combat.

To qualify for the badge, soldiers had to meet certain criteria related to their involvement in armored warfare, such as:

  • Participating in three separate armored assaults on three different days.
  • Being wounded in an armored assault.
  • Having outstanding leadership in an armored assault.
