Kriegsmarine Mine Sweeper Badge
The Kriegsmarine Mine Sweeper Badge (Minensuch-Kriegsabzeichen) was a military decoration of Nazi Germany awarded to naval personnel who served on mine-sweeping vessels or were involved in mine-clearing operations during World War II. It was instituted on August 31, 1940, by Grand Admiral Erich Raeder.
To qualify for the Mine Sweeper Badge, sailors had to serve a certain period on mine-sweeping vessels or be involved in specific mine-clearing operations. Similar to other military badges of the era, it had various classes based on different criteria, including length of service, participation in operations, or acts of bravery.
