    A decent facsimile of a late-war original.

I'm always on the lookout for well-made, good-looking reproductions of historical knives that could be used functionally. And this Puma knife from Landser Outfitters fits the bill quite adequately. The knife and scabbard arrived well-packaged and protected, a full day before the estimated delivery date. The blade has a beautiful mirror polish, and a sharp, toothy, workable edge right out of the box. The point is acute and needle-sharp, snagging and piercing any soft target with minimal effort. The handle feels comfortable in hand, albeit the slabs are slightly uneven in shape. Balance point is just behind the guard, making for a quick, agile, and deadly combat blade like the originals. My only quip is that the steel is a bit soft for my liking, but I've seen late-war originals that were cast, so it's not like this is historically inaccurate. The scabbard is VERY well-made, with a proper spring steel clip and retention system, almost indistinguishable from a legitimate WWI original in my collection. Overall - a pretty collector's item, a decent light-duty field/survival/camping knife, and a functional weapon of last resort.
