Star of the German Order Class
During World War II, the German Order of the Cross of Honour (German: Ehrenkreuz des Deutschen Ordens) was a decoration established by Adolf Hitler on February 1, 1939. It was primarily awarded to civilians and non-combatants for meritorious service in support of the war effort.
The decoration itself consists of a black Maltese cross bearing a swastika in the center. Inside the arms of the cross, between the swastika and the white border, is a wreath of oak leaves.
